Helen and Charles Benes have spent the better part of twenty years photographing the United States and Canada, creating a remarkable library of landscapes and still lifes. Their images command a uniqueness of styles, particularly in capturing dramatic light and striking composition.
They have found that exploring scenes and pictorial settings provides never-ending motivation to find that all illusive "ultimate image". And when somone viewing their work comments, "What a remarkable scene, I'd like to visit that place" or "Your images have real heart," they feel they have just received the highest compliment possible.
Charles and Helen have and continue to participate in several art shows, including the Laguna Beach Art-a-Fair, the Hillcrest Festival of Fine Arts, and the Studio Arts Festival sponsored by the Irvine Fine Arts Center. They are currently contributing photographers to the New York-based Getty Images and the world wide stock house, Index Stock Imagery.
